Leases and school horse lessons available in Malahat, British Columbia

Come experience Ambleside's 30+ year reputation as a safe, friendly, family-oriented barn that encompasses pleasure and competition, in hunter/jumper, dressage, and natural horsemanship. Enjoy the coaching of several certified and experienced coaches, from our fantastic Instructors of Beginners, to our EC Level 1 dressage coach and our Level 2 Hunter/Jumper coach.
Conveniently located in Saanich, close to Mattick's Farm, we have an indoor ring, large lit outdoor ring, round pen, and road access to Lochside Trail and Island View Beach.
School horses available from bombproof beginner ponies to Second Level dressage horses and 2'6" hunters. Leases also available on select school horses, which enables the rider to take them off property for shows and trail rides. Several privately owned horses also available for lease.
Santana -- 16.2hh Dutch warmblood, retired Grand Prix jumper, still happy to compete to 3'6", also a wonderful pleasure mount with his puppy dog personality. Available 2 or 3 days/week.
Trooper -- 15.1hh connemara x gelding, lovely lofty gaits, excels in dressage or hunters, very kind and safe. Available 1 - 4 days/week.
Ali -- 15.2hh Oldenburg mare, solidly schooled Second Level dressage, very willing, loves to work, loves to jump. The sweetest chestnut mare you will ever meet! Available 1 - 4 days/week.
Major -- 16.1hh appendix quarter horse schoolmaster gelding, great for low level dressage and jumping, wonderful pleasure mount. Available Mondays only.
Zipper -- 15.1hh Morgan gelding, a bit lazy but a good solid fellow. Does First Level dressage and 3' jumpers, as well as being a safe pleasure horse. Available Wednesdays only.
Finegan -- 16.1hh Thoroughbred gelding, playful and fun, loves to jump. Not spooky but is a little forward so not for a beginner rider. Available 2 or more days/week.
McCrae -- 14hh Connemara pony, needs handler with some experience on the ground as he can be stubborn to lead, but fun to ride and jump, smooth and simple. Available Wednesdays and Fridays. Up for free lease in October.
Dusty -- 15.2hh spanish norman mare, lovely dressage horse. Available 2 or more days/week.
